Hiking trails close to Vineyard RV ParkHiking trails close to Vineyard RV Park

Are you going to be visiting the park and want to take a few hikes while you are here?  There are so many options for places to explore nearby.  Here are a few of my favorite places to check out:

Lagoon Valley Park
The 470 acre park includes the historic Pena Adobe home, barbecue areas, horseshoe pit, multi-purpose field, bike trails, a small pond, excellent hiking, Lagoon Valley Lake for fishing and non-motorized boating. The park also features a 30,000 square foot fenced in dog park complete with trees, water and trash receptacles.  To get there take the Pena Adobe Road just off of Interstate 80 Westbound.

Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve
The trails in Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve (a UC Davis ecological study area) are open to the public yearround. Access to the trails is at the northern mouth of Cold Canyon, just off Highway 128. The topography of the reserve is primarily steep, sloping land. Pleasants Ridge rises sharply from the floor of Cold Canyon, forming the east canyon wall. The Pleasants Ridge Trail begins at the mouth of the canyon and aggressively climbs the spine of the mountain to the eastern ridge. Atop the ridge are magnificent vistas across Lake Berryessa, Putah Creek Valley, Blue Ridge, and the surrounding rugged mountains.

Rockville Hills Regional Park
Rockville park offers a variety of great terrain. A short climb brings you to a valley surrounded by small peaks. From here, everything you see is fair game. Rolling fire roads, twisting single track, easy-to-treacherous descents, rock drops/gardens/jumps, and beautiful oak woodlands surround a lake with strategically placed picnic benches.  To get there take the Rockville Road exit off of I-80 West.
